The Enachioken of Abiriba, His Highness, Eze Kalu Kalu Ogbu yesterday poured his royal blessings on the the Labour Party governorship candidate, Dr. Alex Otti ahead of the 2023 governorship election.
Eze Ogbu gave the blessings when Dr. Otti was hosted by His Highness and the entire Enachioken in Council in Abiriba.
The reception by the Enachioken followed the recommendation of Council of Abiriba Titled Chiefs who presented the LP Presidential Candidate Mr. Peter Obi, the Governorship candidate, Dr. Alex Otti and the Senatorial candidate for Abia North, Hon. Nnamdi Iro Orji based on their acceptability by the people and asked that they be so honoured with Royal Blessings.
A respected son of Abiriba, Chief Nwaka Inem had while introducing Dr. Otti described him as a great and reliable friend of Abiriba , whose friendship has nothing to do with politics.
Chief Inem recalled an incident that took place many years ago during Dr. Otti’s visit to Abiriba and there was an emergency that required bank transaction in Abiriba, but because there was no bank, and it was brought to his attention, Otti promised to open a branch of First bank in Abiriba, a promise he fulfilled in record time.
Addressing the Traditional ruler and his people, the ex-bank chief expressed his gratitude for the warm reception, describing Abiriba as his second home.
He recalled the immense contributions of Abiriba people in both the old Imo and current Abia State, especially in the area of Industry, Trade and Investment, and vowed to fix their roads, build pipe-borne water and fix the Eke Ahaba General Hospital in the community.
In the same vein, Dr. Otti interfaced with the people of Ameke Abiriba at the Amukwu Square, where he promised to help restore their once celebrated status as “The Small London”
The highly elated community leaders enjoined the people of Abiriba to support Dr. Alex Otti and the Labour Party, and tasked them not to fall for vote buying by desperate politicians who have nothing to offer to Ndi Abiriba and Ndi Abia as whole.
Otti was accompanied at the visit by the Senatorial candidate of Labour Party in Abia North, Hon. Nnamdi Iro Oji (Opotoyom), a Director in the Alex Otti Campaign Council, Navy Commander MaCDonald Ubah, Rtd. and other Labour Party faithfuls.
