The lawyer to the deposed Emir of Kano State, Emir Muhammad Sanusi 11 has assured his teeming supporters that they will do everything to make sure that the liberty of the former Emir is not taken away.
Barrister Abubakar Mahmoud SAN explained this while speaking to Channels TV this evening.
When asked if they intend to take legal action against the dethronement of the Emir, he explained that as lawyers they are waiting for the instruction of their client who at the moment has being arrested and moved to Abuja.
He was though optimist that based on the process of the emir dethronement who he claimed did not follow due process, if they advance to court, the deposed Emir could be reinstated.
“The process did not follow due process, the emir was not given fair hearing and if this is presented before the court , the court can reverse the decision and reinstate the emir. The court will not support illegality and anything done illegally will not stand” he stated.
He maintained that the liberty of the emir can not be removed and they must challenge it.
