BREAKING: Court Gives Judgement On Petition Against Kashim Shettima | READ DETAILS

The Presidential Election Petition Court (PEPT), has dismissed the Allied Peoples Movement (APM)’s petition seeking the disqualification of Vice President Kashim Shettima on the grounds of alleged multiple nomination.

Giving judgement on the suit on Wednesday, Justice Haruna Tsamani ruled that the APM’s petition is a pre-election matter and as such, the PEPT lacks jurisdiction on it.

APM had argued that Tinubu was improperly sponsored by the All Progressives Congress, APC, for nominating Kashim Shettima as his vice-presidential candidate for the election.

They had also claimed that Shettima was still the APC candidate for Borno Central Senatorial District as at July 14 when he accepted the nomination for vice-presidential candidate.

The court also held that APM lacked locus standi to institute matters bothering on nomination and sponsorship of Shettima.
