Hanifa Abubakar: Court Decides On Suspects, Announces New Date For Trial

The Kano State Magistrates’ Court has declared that the four suspects arrested for allegedly killing five-year-old Hanifa Abubakar be remanded in prison till next week.

This is as the prosecution counsel, Barr. Aisha Mahmud told the court on Wednesday that it lacks the jurisdiction to proceed with the case.

The prosecution counsel prayed that the prime suspect, Abdulrashid Tanko, be locked in prison alongside his three others accomplice before they are handed over to the state high court next week.

The matter was thereafter postponed till February 9, 2022.

All Facts News recalls that Tanko and the other suspects were apprehended and subsequently arraigned before the Magistrate’s Court at Gidan Murtala in Kano last Wednesday after they were found guilty of killing the pupil.

Their heinous act had stirred a lot of controversies and caused angry youths to set the school where Tanko was held on fire.

Meanwhile, traditional religious worshippers in Nigeria have added their voice to condemn the use of human parts to make wealth, as reports on ritual Killings increase daily.

According to the traditional worshippers, no Yoruba deity is allowed to use human beings or parts for wealth.

The Oyo State chapter of Traditional Religion Worshippers Association disclosed this in a statement released on Tuesday.

The statement which was signed by its Chairman, Adefabi Dasola and Secretary, Fayemi Fakayode, noted that progenitors of Ifa oracle never claimed to have used human parts to seek prosperity.

They stated that traditional worshippers would rather call on ‘Eledumare’ to bless whoever sought wealth through them and whenever appeasements were to be done, simple items like sugarcane, salt, banana among others were used.

The traditional worshippers linked the increase in money rituals to people displaying cash and material things on social media.

They noted that the flaunting of cash entices people to take illegal means to enhance their wealth.
