The Governor of Abia State, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu has celebrated  all Abia children as they mark this year’s Children’s Day Celebration.

Ikpeazu noted that Abia children have continued to excel in public examinations, consistently maintaining the first position in WAEC examination in Nigeria for the past five years.

In a statement released on May 27, by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Sir Onyebuchi Ememanka, the Governor assured of his commitment to the development of the State through the laying of solid foundations that will guarantee a better tomorrow for the children and the state at large.

Ikpeazu advised the children to shun negative vices like drug abuse, street cultism, indulging in the destruction of public properties, among others, but focus on character building and uphold the virtues of hard work, honesty, integrity and trust which will guarantee them a better tomorrow.

The Governor prayed that the Almighty God  continue to protect the children even as they celebrate another children’s day.
