The Governor of Abia State, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu, has directed the Head of Service, Sir Onyi Wamah, to promptly relocate workers from the Nnamdi Azikiwe State Secretariat building in Umuahia to a safer accommodation.

Following his unscheduled visit to the State Secretariat on Monday, where he personally observed some structural defects in the building, the Governor decided out of the abundance of caution to ensure that the workers be immediately relocated to avert any disaster.

He also directed the Chairman of the Nigeria Society of Engineers, Abia State Chapter, to conduct integrity tests on the building and report back to him within 3 weeks.
