BREAKING: Why We Will Not Probe Maduka Okoye- Dutch FA | READ DETAILS
The Royal Dutch Football Association, officially abbreviated as KNVB has revealed why it will not probe Nigeria International, Maduka Okoye.
Although the Nigerian shot-stopper gave a fine display in his side, Sparta Rotterdam’s narrow victory over fellow Dutch Eredivise team, Go Ahead Eagles at the Sparta-Stadion Het Kasteel, Rotterdam over the weekend, there have been demands for him to be called on the carpet.
Dancing to the tune of his manager, Henk Fraser, the 21-year-old feigned an injury during the game’s first half in an attempt to buy the side time for tactical planning in the face of a looming defeat.
The Dutch soccer governing body, however has disclosed they will not be investigating the incident. Describing it as a ‘general sense issue’,
“The action of Maduka Okoye during the game against Go Ahead, after about 25 minutes, will not be specifically investigated. It is in fact up to the FIFA Rules of the Game Committee to possibly change rules. That is not what the KNVB is about” Algemeen Dagblad the Association’s spokesperson said.
Okoye managed to keep his fourth clean sheet of the season, edging his team a little above relegation.
