BREAKING: Senate Observes Minute Silence for Otukpo Bank Robbery Victims

The Senate has observed a minute silence in honour of the victims of the Otukpo bank robbery.

The resolution followed a motion on the urgent need for the police to investigate the incident.

The Senate also urged the police to investigate the circumstances leading to the attack, as well as the lack of intelligence and alertness on the part of the police on the day of the attack.

Recall that on Friday, heavily armed men in two Hilux vans and a car stormed commercial banks in Otukpo, Benue State, with explosives and sophisticated weapons.

The robbery led to the killing of several persons, including police personnel, vigilante members, and a Local Government Councillor. The robbers then carted away money from the banks.
