BREAKING: OKEZIE IKPEAZU DECLARED WINNER; OPPOSITION PARTIES KICK AGAINST RESULT, DEMAND FOR OUTRIGHT CANCELATION

The Returning Officer for the Abia state gubernatorial election, Professor Benjamin Ozumba has declared the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Dr Okezie Victor Ikpeazu as the winner of the election.

Dr Okezie Ikpeazu who polled 261,127 to defeat his rivals of the APC and PDP,  is the candidate of the PDP and the incumbent governor.

Professor Ozumba said Dr Okezie Ikpeazu, having satisfied all electoral requirements and scored the highest number of votes, is declared the winner and returned elected.
However, in news to come, the All Progressives Congress, APC, and the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA,  in the state have all rejected both the process and the outcome of the election.
