A former General Superintendent of the Assemblies of God Church, Nigeria, the Reverend, Dr Charles Osueke is dead.
Osueke who led the church for 22 years as a General Superintendent before his retirement in November 2010, died in the early hours of Thursday, May 6.
A source said the 79-year old cleric, was hospitalized sometime last week following ill health but was later discharged from the hospital.
Osueke reportedly had his usual night devotion on Wednesday night before retiring to bed but did not wake up.
Late Osueke who hailed from Umuomumu, Mbieri, Mbaitolu in Imo State, was born on May 31, 1942. He is survived by his wife, Rev. Mrs Blessing Osueke, three children and grandchildren.
Meanwhile Nigerians have started paying tribute to the deceased’s family and the church.
