Cross Rivers State Governor Ben Ayade has dumped the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
Governor Ayde announced his decision on Thursday morning in a meeting with six APC governors who visited him at the Government House.
The governors who visited Ayade include Governors of Kebbi, Imo, Yobe, Plateau, Jigawa and Ekiti State.
Recall that Governor Ben Ayade has been in a battle with members of the national assembly over who controls the party structures in the state.
Obviously, after court decisions, the national assembly members seems to be the ones in control of PDP party structures from the state to the local government areas and the ward levels.
This has unsettled the governor who feels he no longer has the capacity to decide the fate of party PDP in 2023. This immediately increased his romance with the APC which finally led to his decamping today.
