BREAKING: 1ST Aircraft To Evacuate Nigerians Stranded In Ukraine Departs | READ DETAILS
The first batch of Nigerian nationals stranded in Ukraine following Russia’s invasion, are set to be evacuated back to Nigeria.
AirPeace aircraft departed on Thursday, at about 2:20am for Poland where some Nigerians are taking refuge.
Announcing the aircraft departure, AirPeace wrote;
“Ukraine War: We’ve deployed our aircraft to evacuate Nigerians who are stranded in Europe as a result of the invasion of Ukraine by Russia.
This is the first batch of Nigerians to be evacuated since the war broke out. The aircraft departed Nigeria at 2:20am today, Thursday, March 3, 2022, for Warsaw, Poland.”
Recall that the Federal government had said it will commence evacuation of about 5,600 citizens on Wednesday. President Muhammadu Buhari yesterday, approved $8.5m to aid in the evacuation which AirPeace and MaxAir are expected to conduct. READ HERE
