A Chairmanship aspirant under the All Progressives Congress(APC), has been attacked by unknown gunmen in his office at the Ijede area of Ikorodu in Lagos State.
According to reports, the gunmen invaded the office of the aspirant, Oluwatosin Onamade, killing a 54-year-old Ifeanyi Godfrey, while others sustained injury.
Onamade said;
“I am a chairmanship aspirant and I was in the office when the hoodlums came with guns and cutlasses and vandalized my property at my office, Western Funeral Home Limited, and killed one of my domestic workers, Ifeanyi Godfrey. He was shot in the head.
“The hoodlums were about 35 and also beat my brother to a state of unconsciousness. So, we rushed him to the Ijede General Hospital.”
When contacted by PUNCH METRO, the State Police Public Relations Officer, Muyiwa Adejobi, confirmed the incident;
“We had a case like that and the Divisional Police Officer went to the place and we have taken the corpse to the mortuary for autopsy.
“The Commissioner of Police, Hakeem Odumosu, has ordered that the case be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department for further investigation.”
