Air Vice Marshal Chinwendu Onyike (Rtd) delivers a remarkable scorecard in Isuikwuato with 11 key projects, demonstrating strategic leadership and a commitment to community development.

 

Air Vice Marshal Chinwendu Onyike Fdc (Rtd), a distinguished military officer with an illustrious career, took office as the Mayor of Isuikwuato Local Government Area on December 1, 2023, with a clear vision and unwavering commitment to service. Known for his discipline, dedication, and strategic thinking, Onyike brought his military acumen to bear on his new role, quickly identifying and addressing the critical challenges facing the local government. His leadership has since become synonymous with transformation and progress in Isuikwuato.

Upon assuming office, AVM Onyike embarked on an immediate assessment tour of the Mbalano headquarters. What he discovered was alarming: public buildings were in various stages of disrepair, with roofs blown off and facilities in deplorable conditions. The office buildings, including the Mayor’s own office, were unfit for work, and basic amenities like public toilets were nonexistent. Determined to restore dignity and functionality to the local government, Onyike quickly set about executing a series of priority projects. WATCH VIDEO  BELOW: 

 

Projects Executed Under AVM Onyike’s Leadership: 

 

1.Repair of Vandalized 100KVA Generator and Installation of Armoured Cables at Isuikwuato LGA Headquarters.

2. Repair of 100/33KVA Injection Substation at Igidinyin/Umuihe Community, Eluama.

3. Renovation of Council Chambers at Mbalano headquarters.

4. Reconstruction of Fallen Fence at Mbalano headquarters.

5. Renovation of Multi-purpose Hall at Mbalano headquarters.

6. Construction of a Standard Borehole with Overhead Tank at the LGA Headquarters, Mbalano.

7. Installation of Firefighting Equipment and Training at LGA Headquarters, Mbalano.

8. Repair of Vandalized 100/33KVA Transformer at Mbalano headquarters, benefiting communities from Amaba, Amuta to Ogboro Amiyi-uhu.

9. Facelift for the Main Access Gate and Approach to the LGA Secretariat Complex.

10. Reconstruction of Pavilion at Isuikwuato LGA Secretariat Complex.

11. Grading of Rural Roads in Select Wards/Communities in Isuikwuato LGA:

a. Ahaba Secondary School-Ovim Road (3KM)

b. Umudinja-Ama-Ububo-Umuikpo – Oriendu Road (3KM)

c. Umuebere-Nkuma – Umuerem Road & Umuokogbuo – Umuobiala Road (3KM)

d. Eluama Secondary School – Amiyi-Obilohia – Umuadaukwu – Amiyi-uhu Road (3KM)

e. Ozara – Ndi Obasi Junction – Acha Road (2KM)

f. Nvurunvu – Obilohia – Omumara road/Nnenzu – Isunabor Road (2KM)

g. Ekeukwu – Umuroto – Akpukpa Road (1.5KM)

h. Eluama – Obunebere Nkuma Road.

 

Under AVM Onyike’s leadership, Isuikwuato has seen a remarkable transformation, with restored infrastructure, improved public services, and renewed hope for the future. His dedication to duty and his commitment to the welfare of the people have set a new standard for leadership in the region.
