The conference for all youths of Arochukwu LGA, organized by the Minority Whip/member representing Arochukwu State Constituency, Abia House of Assembly, Hon. Dr. Mike Ukoha, has turned out to be a huge success.
The epoch making conference, which was held at the main auditorium of the Abia State College of Education Technical Arochukwu (ASCETA), on Wednesday the 20th of January, 2021, has in attendance who is who across the LGA.
Speaking at the occasion, the sponsored the sponsor, Hon. Dr. Mike Ukoha, explained that his fundamental reason for aspiring to be a Lawmaker is to ensure that the youths are empowered.
He said he always feel sad when he see many of our youths walking about the street without hand work.
The Lawmaker hinted that the essence of the conference as the first of its kind, was to identify the youths who are willing to learn a skill so as to be self reliance in future.
Hon. Ukoha, further hinted that in order to empower our youths, there is the need for the youths of Arochukwu LGA, to learn a skill of their choice, which his office will be willing to sponsor, adding that he will be much delighted to see young people in next few months securing loans from NIRSAL Micro Finance Bank, to help their businesses.
He thanked all those who made the conference a huge success and the youths for findings time to attend the program and prayed God to bless them.
Earlier in his speech, the Host and the Provost ASCETA, Dr. Phillip Nto, had thanked the sponsor, Hon. Dr. Mike Ukoha, for his passion for the youths and harped on the need to empower them.
Dr. Nto, described the conference as the first of its kind, saying that the sponsor deserves commendation for his quality representations.
He thanked the Governor Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu on his developmental strides in the school and urged him to go on in his good works.
Also in his speech, the keynote speaker, Mrs. Mary Ikoku had described entrepreneurship as the concept of developing and managing of business ventures in other to make profit.
She explained that an entrepreneurship entails finding a problem and bringing solution to the problem.
Mrs. Ikoku urged the youths to learn to engage in meaningful ventures in order to earn a living.
At the conference, other speakers include Dr. Sam Okoro, Mrs. Favour Ikeji and many more.
At the conference, the Deputy Minority Leader/member representing Bende North State Constituency, Hon. Chijioke Chukwu, thanked his colleague, on his love for the youths.
He explained that Hon. Ukoha, is among the few lawmakers that is mindful of the youths and have empowered the youths and prayed God to bless him.
It will be recalled that the team for the conference is “Arochukwu Youths Creating A Better Future, Through Entrepreneurship”.
