The Flying Eagles of Nigeria are set to take on Argentina in a round of 16 clash at the 2025 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Chile.

Argentina vs Nigeria

Argentina qualified for the 2025 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Chile by coming in second place at the South American U-20 Championships.

In Chile, they have been undefeated in all three group games picking up all nine points.

They started with a 3-1 win against Cuba and then a 4-1 win against Australia in their second group game.

They sealed off their perfect group campaign with a 1-0 win against Italy.

Nigeria’s U-20 team known as the Flying Eagles earned their World Cup spot with a bronze medal at the recent African U-20 Cup of Nations.

The Flying Eagles were unable to start on the right note as they suffered a 1-0 loss to Norway in their opening match.

The Flying Eagles on the hand recorded a 3-2 win against Saudi Arabia, needing a late penalty to secure three points.

In their final group game they played out a 1-1 Colombia to finish one win, one draw and one loss.

This means that the Flying Eagles finished with four points from three games and qualified as one of the best third place teams.
