The national chairman of All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Chief Victor Oye received Abia State governorship hopeful Major General Ijioma N. Ijioma Rtd in his country home at Amawbia in Anambra state on the 12th of February 2022.
The General who had earlier joined the party from his ward in Umuhu Ezechi, Bende Local Government Area and now one of the frontline governorship aspirants in Abia State continued his consultation with the visit to the national chairman of his party.
While speaking during the interaction, Major General Ijioma N. Ijioma Rtd revealed that his joining of APGA is for life and that he is committed in making sure that the party grows and become stronger in all ramification.
He assured the national chairman of the party that he is a unifier, a mobilizer and a man driven by the passion for making sure that Ndi Igbo are better placed in Nigeria through the instrumentality of APGA as a party. He stated that Ndi Igbo today are in political wilderness in Nigeria because they own no political platform with which to negotiate from a position of strength with other Nigerians. He appealed to the national chairman to work towards making the party a national party in word and indeed, instead of a state party. He advised the national chairman to adopt the triple BBB strategy (Break in, Break through and Breakout) which was employed by the Allied Forces in the capture of the fortified city of Tobruk in Libya during World War II. He further added that he looks forward to APGA winning the governorship elections of the remaining four South Eastern states in 2023 General Election.
Major General Ijioma went further to unveil that he believes in APGA and if given the ticket of the party in the fourth coming 2023 governorship election in Abia State, the party will win and move into Government House in Umuahia.
“APGA is not tainted and not tested in Abia State, if I am given the ticket of the party, we will win the election and move into Government House in Umuahia, Abia State”
While responding, APGA national chairman, Chief Victor Oye welcomed General Ijioma into the party. He assured the General of a level playing ground for all governorship aspirants in the party, but urged him to work hard for the ticket.
“This is a race that only the First is adjudged to have passed the exam, so you have to work hard in the party so that at the end of the day you can come first”.
The national chairman equally revealed that the party has grown astronomically under is watch and will continue growing. He extended invitation to the General to visit the national headquarters of APGA in Abuja.
