APGA PRESS RELEASE ON THE KIDNAP OF THE ABIA STATE APC CHAIRMAN, CHIEF DONATUS NWAMKPA.

The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) Abia state, received with utmost sadness the news of the kidnap of the State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief Donatus Nwamkpa.

APGA, to say the least feels very sad over this dastardly act that unjustly denies an innocent citizen his right to freedom of movement and subjects him, his family and friends to all forms of fear and psychological trauma.

As a progressive party that preaches peace and frowns at all acts of criminality, threat to life and general acts of violence, we unequivocally condemn this cruel act that defeats every justification, and call on those responsible for it to have a rethink and quickly release Chief Nwamkpa so that he could reunite with his family.

We also appeal to security agents to swiftly swing into action to ensure that Chief Nwamkpa is quickly freed from captivity.

Security agents, especially the police should as a matter of urgent public safety beam their searchlight on known black spots in the state where chances of crimes and criminality are very high so as to ensure that innocent citizens are not frightened by criminals, especially at this time of election.

Finally, we are appealing to our youths, residents and owners of facilities that harbour kidnappers to desist from this heinous crime, rather all should join hands together to ensure that kidnapping and all other forms of criminality capable of presenting Abia and Abians in bad light are defeated in the interest of all.
