The Abia state chapter of the All Progressives Congress has vowed to shake the whole of Abia ahead of the forthcoming rally on the Friday 11th of January 2018.
This release was made available to newsmen in a press conference at the campaign office of the party’s gubernatorial candidate. Speaking to journalists yesterday 8th of January 2019, the chairman of the rally committee, Honourable Iheanacho Obioma flanked by the rally’s spokesman, Dr Chidia Maduekwe reinstated that Abians from every nooks and cranny of the state are all massively mobilising and anticipating the day of the event.
On the issue of the internal wrangling dogging the party and attendance – of the rally – by the party’s bigwigs at the national level being a validation of the candidacy of the gubernatorial candidate Dr Sampson Uche Ogah, Hon. Obioma maintained that the attendance of the rally by anybody in the party does not in any way authenticate the validity of the flagbearers of the party.
Furthermore, Hon. Obioma went ahead to extol the performances of President Buhari in the southeast, saying it was going to be a major factor in selling the candidacy of the APC in Abia state. He said, “President Buhari has done so well in the southeast, by building lasting infrastructures and total maintenance of existing ones, the president has given Abians enough reasons why the party should be given a chance at the polls in the general elections.”
On his part, the spokesperson of the rally, Dr Chidia Maduekwe also called on the media to help with both the investigation and propagation of facts to ensure the campaigns are issue-based.
He assured Abians of near-heaven governance under the leadership of Dr Sampson Uche Ogah, stressing that when compared to the present governor (in terms of experience and capacity), Dr Ogah towers high and has shown through his antecedents in strategic investments that he can make Abia the envy of neighbouring states.
When asked on the issue of the paling confidence of the people from this extraction on the President and his party owing to the uprising of separate movements and the ways such issues have been handled, Dr Maduekwe explained that with the intervention of the president in specific areas like paying the retirement benefits of Biafra policemen and soldiers, bailing out NITEL pensioners, the president has shown that he embodies and understands the struggle for Biafra.
