The All Progressives Congress (APC) has unveiled its timetable and guidelines for the Anambra State governorship primary election, setting the nomination form at N50 million.
Key Dates and Guidelines
In a notice released on Monday, February 5, Sulaiman Argungu, the APC National Organising Secretary, announced that the party will commence the sale of nomination forms on February 10, while the deadline for submission of completed forms and required documents is February 26.
The screening of aspirants is scheduled for March 7 and 8, paving the way for the congress to elect delegates on April 2, while the governorship primary election to determine the party’s flagbearer will take place on April 5.
The APC also disclosed that campaign activities for the governorship election will officially commence on June 11.
Fee Structure and Special Considerations
The ruling party has pegged the expression of interest and nomination forms at N50 million. However, in line with its policy on inclusivity:
Female aspirants and Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) will only pay for the expression of interest form, while the nomination form is free.
Youths aged 25 to 40 will receive a 50% discount on the nomination form.
