In a move that has drawn praise from across Isuikwuato Local Government Area, the Member Representing Isuikwuato/Umunneochi Federal Constituency, Hon. Amobi Godwin Ogah, FCME, has launched a two-day free medical outreach for residents of Isuikwuato.
The programme, holding on Saturday, May 31st and Sunday, June 1st, 2025, at the Isuikwuato General Hospital, Mbalano, is expected to provide medical attention to hundreds of residents who otherwise struggle to access quality healthcare.
Running daily from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm, the outreach is part of Hon. Ogah’s ongoing efforts to directly impact lives in his constituency through quality healthcare interventions. The initiative is seen as a strategic response to the pressing healthcare needs of rural dwellers who often suffer neglect from the formal health system.
While announcing the programme, Hon. Ogah emphasized that the outreach aligns with his broader vision of improving the welfare and living standards of the people of Isuikwuato/Umunneochi. According to his media team, the free medical service will cover general consultations, diagnosis, treatment, drug prescriptions, minor procedures, and health education.
“This isn’t just about treating people for two days,” a source close to the lawmaker stated. “It’s about bringing relief to the underserved and reminding them that their health matters. Hon. Ogah believes that governance should touch the lives of the common people, and this is one way of showing that commitment.”
Community leaders, traditional rulers, and the clergy have been called upon to help mobilize their people to take full advantage of the outreach. This collaborative approach is expected to ensure that those in urgent need of care are reached quickly and efficiently.
Several medical professionals, including doctors, nurses, pharmacists, and lab technicians, are participating in the outreach, with full support from Hon. Ogah’s office and local healthcare stakeholders.
The turnout is expected to be massive, as news of the programme spreads throughout the villages and communities in Isuikwuato. Residents have expressed excitement and gratitude for what many describe as a “rare act of leadership with a human face.”
Beyond this medical outreach, Hon. Amobi Ogah has consistently pushed for reforms and development in various sectors affecting his constituency, including education, infrastructure, security, and youth empowerment. His presence at the National Assembly continues to serve as a voice for the people, especially on matters that directly affect the grassroots.
As the outreach commences, expectations are high that more such interventions will follow, especially as healthcare remains one of the most pressing challenges in Nigeria’s rural communities.
This initiative further cements Hon. Ogah’s reputation as a lawmaker who is practical, responsive, and people-oriented, bringing governance closer to the people in ways that matter most — their health and well-being.
