AMALGAMATED NEWSPAPER PUBLISHER ASSOCIATION PAYS CONDOLENCE VISIT TO MRS NKANGA AND FAMILY
The Amalgamated Newspaper Publisher Association, Akwa Ibom State Chapter on Wednesday, January 13th, 2021 paid condolence visit to the family His Excellency Idongesit Nkanga, former military Governor of Akwa Ibom State who slept in the Lord on the 25th December 2020.
The visit was led by the state Chairman of the Association Mr. Osuini-Abasi Alfred who was accompanied by the Secretary Mr. Ubong Etitor and Mr Mfonobong Ukpong, Assistant Publicity secretary who is also the publisher of Global pilot Newspaper.
Speaking on behalf of the Association, Mr Osuiniabasi, described former Military Governor as a patriotic citizen and a father who was always ready to listen to ply of his children at all time. Mr Alfred describes the death of His Excellency Otuekong Idongesit Nkanga as a very saddened situation and monumental lost to Akwa Ibom State particular and Nigeria at large.
The state Chairman used the occasion to offer prayers to the bereaved family and prayed that the good Lord should guide and protect them against every forces that may rise against the family.
The wife of the former Governor Her Excellency Deaconess Funmi Idongesit Nkanga thanked the Association for coming to share with her in time of her grief and asked the leadership of the Association to emulate the good and simple lifestyle of the former Governor who earned him the admiration he enjoyed till his last day on earth.
Deaconess Nkanga stated that she will forever missed her Husband, whom she described as her best friend and the only man who understood her the most.
The late Mr Nkanga was Akwa Ibom governor from September 1990 to January during Ibrahim Babangida’s military regime. Ufot Ekaette, who later became the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, was his deputy.
He retired as an Air Commodore in the Nigerian Airforce.
He was 68 years.
