The Abia State Chapter of All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), has reacted to the recent interrogation of former Governor of the State and serving Senator, Chief T. A Orji, by the Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC), which showed that the former governor and his son, Rt. Hon. Chinedum Orji allegedly looted funds belonging to Abia State to the tune of over N500 billion naira.

In a press release jointly signed by the State Publicity Secretary of the party, Ebere Uzoukwa and the Media Assistant to Dr. Alex Otti, Ferdinand Ekeoma, explained that they understood that millions of Abians in particular and Nigerians in general have been expressing shock, disbelief and anger over the report due to the magnitude of the thievery and therefore join Abians in solidarity at this moment of sadness and sobriety.

According to the release, it stated that the in-depth report has confirmed Dr. Alex Otti’s long held view that the former governor presided over an era of mindless kleptocracy as governor, with attendant consequences of failure and underdevelopment.

The release further says that Abians and Nigerians believed that the former governor and his son committed the kind of financial crimes that bore the trademark of incurable lunacy, thereby living behind legacies of impunity, ruins and absolute destruction.
