A political support group under the banner of Abia Rejoice Movement has raised serious concerns over what it described as an alleged plot targeting former Minister of State for Mines and Steel Development, Dr. Uchechukwu Sampson Ogah, CON.
In a press statement issued on February 10, 2026, the group claimed that “reliable intelligence” had reportedly uncovered plans by certain political actors within Abia State to harass, blackmail, physically attack, or possibly eliminate the prominent political figure over his political engagements and views.
The statement, which has begun to generate conversations across political circles in Abia, described the alleged scheme as being driven by “unscrupulous and desperate political elements” uncomfortable with Ogah’s growing influence.
According to the group, the decision to go public was taken in the interest of transparency and collective vigilance.
While no specific names were mentioned, the Abia Rejoice Movement stated that those allegedly connected to the plot are “not unknown” and assured that lawful channels would be used to address the matter.
The group urged security agencies and relevant authorities to take the information seriously, emphasizing the need to safeguard democratic processes and prevent any attempt to destabilize the state.
“Efforts by subversive elements to incite fear or undermine peace must not be allowed to succeed,” the statement noted.
Despite the gravity of the allegation, the movement insisted that Dr. Ogah remains calm and unwavering, expressing confidence that justice would prevail.
They reaffirmed their faith in lawful institutions and called on supporters across Abia State and beyond to remain peaceful and vigilant.
Political observers say the development adds another layer of tension to Abia’s already charged political atmosphere as conversations around 2027 gradually intensify.
