Akwapoly commiserates with families of her Students who died on their way to NYSC Orientation Camp

The Rector, Akwa Ibom State Polytechnic, Ikot Osurua, Dr Moses Umobong, on behalf of the Governing Council, Management, Staff, Students and the entire Polytechnic Community, commiserates with the families of Upere Innocent Peter and Akpan Victor Joseph, deceased graduates and prospective corps members from Akwa Ibom State Polytechnic, Akwapoly, who are among the five NYSC hopefuls from Akwa Ibom State who passed away yesterday in a fatal automobile accident along the Abaji/Kwali Expressway enroute to Katsina state for their mandatory orientation camp of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) programme.

The Rector described as shocking and regrettable, the demise of these young, fresh and ambitious graduates of the Polytechnic who were in high spirit to serve their Fatherland after four years of intensive academic study and entrepreneural training they acquired during their studentship in the Polytechnic.

He prayed God to grant the deceased eternal rest and their families, Classmates, the Department of Mass Communication, and the Polytechnic Community, the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss while pledging the support of the Polytechnic to the bereaved family in particular and the NYSC in general in this moment of grief.
