Team Officer of the Nigeria national team, Babafemi Raji has insisted that Super Eagles will thrive as a united front at the high sounding 2021 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) regardless of the threat Egyptian Star, Mohamed Salah poses.
The highly decorated three-time AFCON victors will face the Pharaohs of Egypt on January 11,2021 in a long awaited showdown before a line up of games which will see them take on Sudan and Guinea-Bissau respectively.
Nevertheless, Raji in an interview with Mehwar TV, a Egyptian TV Station stated that while the team is well aware of the Liverpool’s Forward presence and influence in the game, their focus will be on beating the Egyptian team as a whole rather than on beating the Mo Salah.
Raji also affirmed the African football giants will dominate Group D, beating Egypt, Sudan and Guinea- Bissau clinically.
Raji said;
“We very much respect the Egyptian team and know the capabilities of Mohamed Salah.
We are here to play against the Egyptian national team, not just against Salah.
“It is certain that Nigeria is the first candidate to qualify from its group, and we do not care who will qualify with us, and we respect everyone”.
