Barely two hours away from the pitched 2023 African Cup of Nations qualifier clash between the Nigeria and Sierra Leone, Sierra leone captain, Steven Caulker has averred his team is no way intimidated by the Super Eagles.

Three-time African champions, Super Eagles will battle for a spot at Africa’s football biggest gathering billed for Cote d’ivoire next year in a game against sports counterparts, Sierra Leone.

For the star studded Super Eagles squad, the game will transcend vying for a qualification to ending a disturbing winless run.

The Leone Stars of Sierra Leone held Jose Peseiro’s boys to a 4-4 draw in their last encounter two years ago.

The game saw the West Africans make a comeback to close a 4-0 margin, sharing the spoils with the Super Eagles at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, Benin City.

Caulker while speaking to reporters maintained his team can hold forth following their impressive run in recent outings.

“We want to make a good start. We are going to play in the right way to compete with Nigeria

It’s all about the three points. We are aware they (Super Eagles) have a lot of big names in their team

We know they have quality players in their team, but it’s all about the three points and we are ready for the challenge

We are one of the smallest countries in Africa, but we have good team spirit. We are here to get three points and hopefully qualify from the group.”

The game is slated for 5pm at the Moshood Abiola Stadium.
