Abure Triumphs in Court, Calls on Peter Obi to Unite Labour Party

Labour Party National Chairman, Julius Abure, celebrates a significant victory as the Federal High Court in Abuja affirms his leadership. In his statement, Abure calls for forgiveness and unity, urging party members to reflect, reconcile, and work towards rebuilding the party for the common good of Nigeria.

Labour Party National Chairman, Barr. Julius Abure, has emerged victorious in a critical legal battle as the Federal High Court in Abuja reaffirmed his leadership following a ruling by Justice Emeka Nwite. This decision validates the Labour Party’s convention held in Nnewi, Anambra State, and commands INEC to formally recognize Abure’s leadership.

In his post-judgment statement, Abure expressed deep gratitude to the judiciary for standing firm amidst external pressures. He hailed the decision as not just his personal triumph, but a victory for justice, democracy, and the rule of law in Nigeria.

“I extend my heartfelt thanks to Almighty God, the judiciary, and particularly Justice Emeka Nwite, for delivering a fair judgment in the face of pressures. This ruling affirms the strength of our judicial system and the legitimacy of our leadership,” he said.

Acknowledging previous rulings by Justice Omotosho of the Federal High Court and Justice C.K. Nwankwo of the Abia High Court, Abure commended the judiciary for resisting unconstitutional pressures from various individuals seeking to destabilize the party.

In a spirit of reconciliation, Abure offered forgiveness to those who attempted to undermine his leadership, urging them to reflect on their actions, seek repentance, and make restitution to heal the party. He called for unity, emphasizing that the Labour Party’s doors remain open to all members, including those who had opposed him during the crisis.

He also reached out to former Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, urging him to play a key role in uniting the party. “Now is the time to rebuild, reconnect with our grassroots supporters, and focus on the future of Nigeria,” he said.

The Labour Party leader reiterated his commitment to restructuring the party and ensuring it remains a force in the country’s political landscape, dedicated to representing the common man.

“This victory marks the beginning of a new era for the Labour Party, one focused on unity and progress,” Abure concluded, thanking party members and supporters for their unwavering belief throughout the leadership crisis.
