A former House of Assembly Candidate in Abia State on the platform of Social Democratic Party (SDP), Mrs. Chika Ukandu has dumped her membership of the party and pitched her tent with the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Speaking with some party faithful in Umuahia, Mrs. Ukandu stated that sometime in 2019, a group of women from the ruling party had approached her to join the ruling party and contest election, but that she declined and rather joined All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA).
According to her, when APGA was not living up to her expectations, she left and joined SDP where she contested for Umuahia Central State Constituency, in the Abia State House of Assembly.
She expressed delight that she has formally joined the Party which God wants her to be which is APC, saying that the issue is not about Abia State, but Umuahia as a Capital city, urging the party members to rally round her so that by 2023, the APC will capture the Constituency.
Mrs. Ukandu promised to be sponsoring party meetings monthly henceforth, so that if there are issues affecting the party, it could be fashioned out and treated the way it should be done for the betterment of the party.
The female politician added that just like a family, there is the need for all party members in Umuahia Central to come together and make it better come 2023 election.
While speaking to AFNews reporter on the sideline of the event, she made it clear that she is joining APC with her skill, experience in leadership, knowlegde of human management and she believes with her APC in Umuahia cnetral and Abia State as a whole will be better.
