Abia Takes Delivery of Brand New Modern Fire Fighting Truck |SEE PHOTOS

Governor Okezie Ikpeazu has commissioned a new fire fighting truck from the Federal Fire Service to the State as revealed by Sir Onyebuchi Ememanka, Chief Press Secretary to the governor.

 

Receiving the fire fighting truck at Government House, Umuahia, Governor Okezie Ikpeazu acknowledged the hardwork and industry of the men of the fire service in Nigeria. He particularly commended the Abia Command of the Fire Service for its hard work and pledged to continue to support it to do more. He promised that the new Fire Service Training School in Abia would receive every support from the State Government.

The Governor advocated for more proactive measures be taken to educate the Abia citizenry on the dangers of fire as well as responsibility of citizens whenever there is a fire outbreak.

 

Earlier while presenting the truck to the Governor on behalf of the Comptroller General of the Federal Fire Service, Alhaji Liman Ibrahim, the Asstant Comptroller General in charge of Zone J of the Federal Fire Service, Dr. Callistus Agu explained that the truck is to be used for training at the Federal Fire Service Training School located in Abia State and for emergency responses to fire incidents across the State.

He said that the training school would cover for the training of the fire men in the South East geopolitical zone.

 

The truck is ultra modern and has the latest fire fire fighting gadgets.

 

Governor Okezie Ikpeazu later inspected a guard of honor mounted by officers of the Federal Fire Service, after which a fire fighting demonstration was conducted by the officers.

The immediate past Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Interior, Mrs Georgina Ehuria Arisa was part of the event as well as Senator Mao Ohuabunwa.
