The Speaker, Abia State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Chinedum Enyinnaya Orji has charged his constituents and Abians at large to embrace and maintain the existing peace even in the face of 2023 elections.

 

The Speaker made this call on Saturday, February 5, while hosting PDP stake holders of Umuahia Central state constituency at the Speakers lodge in Umuahia.

Buttressing on 2023, he said everybody aspiring for any position must show capacity and be able to do the ground work.

 

He called on all to work together to ensure that the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), retains it’s ruling position in the state.

 

He also charged; “Let us continue to be loyal to the party, let us be loyal to the government of the day.”

 

Rt. Hon. Orji gave out 5 vehicles to; Hon. Chukwudi Ezebuiro, Zonal Chairman, Abia Central; Prince Ben Okezie, State treasurer; Aguiyi Okezie ward 1 Chairman; Hon. Emelu Odeghe ward 2 Chairman; Augustine Ibeh ward, 3 Chairman.

During the stakeholders meeting, the Speaker equally gave report of his stewardship.

 

Reeling out his report to stakeholders of the Umuahia Central State Constituency, Rt Hon Chinedum Enyinnaya Orji said he was delighted with his journey with the people so far and told them to expect more from him as their representative. He thanked leaders of the various wards in the Constituency for holding the ground and ensuring peace, cohesion and growth of the party in their various wards, challenging them to ensure that the party keeps leading and winning in every election season to ensure that the progress being experienced in the constituency is not rolled back.

  1. St. Stephen’s Primary School, Umuahia – perimeter fencing and one classroom block
  2. World Bank Primary School
  3. Urban Primary School II
  4. Amuzukwu Girls’ Secondary School – reroofing of some classroom blocks, a toilet facility and regrassed the school field
  5. School of the Blind
  6. Ugwunchara Pry School, Umuahia
  7. Umuwaya Primary School, Umuahia
  8. City Nursery & Pry School III
  9. Loriter Pry School – 3-classroom block, 3-room toilet facility
  10. St Michael’s Pry School – renovated a classroom block, fencing of the school
  11. Methodist Girls’ High School – six-classroom block, a toilet facility.

  13. School Road Pry School

ICT TRAINING OF YOUTHS

 

  1. Close to 200 youths being trained in various relevant aspects of ICT, free of charge

  3. Umuokoo Road
  4. Amuzukwu to Umuezeagwu
  5. Umuwaya Mbaraukwu Link Road
  6. Umueze
  7. Umuezearota
  8. Ugba

 

ABIA STATE HOUSE OF ASSEMBLY

  1. Renovation of House of Assembly Complex

 

Scholarships were awarded to indigent students

 

Start up capital were given to young entrepreneurs.

 

MSME operators were empowered with needed work tools like power generating sets, barbing kits, grinding machines, hairdressing machines, etc.

 

Vehicles were also gifted to youths as empowerment items.

 

Electricity Transformers were installed for various communities:

 

  1. Isieke,
  2. Mbaraukwu amuzukwu,
  3. St Stephens Cathedral,
  4. Umuobasi Ugba,
  5. Nkata Ibeku and
  6. Umuukwu

 

In continuation of his mission to keep empowering the people, Rt Hon Chinedum Enyinnaya Orji gave out 5 Toyota Sienna SUVs to various leaders of Umuahia Central State Constituency. The beneficiaries are:

 

  1. Mr Chukwudi Ezebuiro
  2. Prince Ben Okezie
  3. Mr Ossy Aguiyi
  4. Mr Emeh Odeghe Onyike
  5. Mr Augustin Ibeh

 

 

Also speaking at the meeting, Chief Charles Ogbonnaya (Evuleogu Ibeku) said it was obvious that the constituency did not make a mistake in electing Rt Hon Chinedum Enyinnaya Orji into the Assembly as he has surpassed all expectations by far and urged the people to repay the Speaker’s commitment to them by demonstrating even greater dedication to his future political endeavours.

 

Others who spoke at the meeting thanking the Speaker for his magnanimity are Dr Udochukwu Ogbonna, Hon Peter Obinna Iroegbu, Sir Pat Mgbemena and the Traditional Prime Minister of Ibeku Ancient Kingdom, Chief Uchenna Akwukwegbu (Bawas).

 

Father of the constituency, Hon Chief Godfrey Onyemaobi was also present.
