Speaker of Abia State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Engr Chinedum Enyinnaya Orji, Friday commissioned the operational facility of Nepal Oil and Gas Limited at Ehimiri Housing Estate, along Ikot Ekpene Road, Umuahia.
Declaring the facility open, the Speaker said he was impressed with the quality of the facility, saying it typifies his call on investors, especially Abians, to invest back home.
“We can not leave everything in the hands of government alone. By investing in the State, you help to create employment and empower the citizens in the process”, the Speaker said.
Turning to the MD/CEO of Nepal Oil & Gas Limited, Rt Hon Chinedum Enyinnaya Orji, said, “you have done well for yourself and family, and with this facility, you’ve done well for Abia State and her people because this filling station, apart from creating employment, will further reduce the stress of people around this location going some distance to get fuel. It also heightens competition among filling stations which we hope will in turn create a healthy competition that will eventually be to the benefit of the people.
“I am sure this business will prosper because the market is there. I wish you the best”, the Speaker said.
He called on other Abians to emulate the gesture of the owners of Nepal Oil & Gas Ltd by investing in the State as Abia has remained a peaceful State and conducive for business.
Responding, the MD/CEO of Nepal Oil and Gas Ltd, Barrister Mrs Ngozi Ekeoma, thanked the Speaker for honouring her request to commission the filling station. She said her “request was based on the goodwill the Speaker enjoys among a very large section of Abians, staying that the filling station was opened to serve Abians with integrity.
