Chief Emeka Kalu has dismissed attacks from the Abia PDP, highlighting their governance failures and expressing support for Governor Alex Otti’s transformative strides. He urges the PDP to reflect on its shortcomings instead of attacking those driving progress in Abia.
In a fiery response to recent attacks by the Abia State chapter of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) where they issued a disclaimer, Chief Emeka Charles Kalu has set the record straight on his loyalty to progress, governance, and the people of Abia State.
Chief Emeka Kalu, a longstanding PDP chieftain with over two decades of unwavering commitment to the party, dismissed the PDP’s recent criticisms as baseless and borne out of frustration. In a statement issued through his media consultant, Shola Adeniran, Chief Kalu highlighted his contributions to the party and reaffirmed his dedication to promoting good governance in Abia State.
Chief Kalu’s political resume speaks volumes. A dedicated PDP member from Bende Ward, he has been a close ally of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and served as the Director General of the Atikulated Agenda, championing the party’s presidential aspirations across Nigeria. He also authored the political biography, “Atiku Abubakar: The Man for Nigeria,” which was launched in Abuja before the 2023 elections in the presence of key PDP leaders.
His influence extends beyond party politics. As the Director General of Global Initiatives for Good Governance, Chief Emeka Kalu has worked tirelessly to strengthen democracy in Africa and remains a vocal advocate for transformative leadership.
Chief Kalu’s support for Governor Alex Chioma Otti OFR stems from a commitment to progress over partisanship. Under Otti’s leadership, Abia State has witnessed remarkable development, earning widespread applause from citizens and stakeholders alike.
“Good governance transcends party affiliations,” Kalu remarked. “Governor Otti’s achievements in Abia State deserve recognition, and like many Abians, I commend his transformative strides.”
Chief Kalu did not mince words in addressing the Abia PDP’s failures, describing the party as a shadow of itself after years of underperformance. He cited the PDP’s inability to provide basic governance—such as waste management and prompt salary payments—as key reasons for its downfall.
“The bitterness of a failed PDP faction is understandable,” Chief Emeka Kalu stated. “Many relied solely on access to government coffers for their livelihood. Governor Otti’s reforms have blocked these avenues, leaving them aggrieved.”
Kalu urged the PDP to reflect on its shortcomings rather than attacking individuals dedicated to Abia’s progress. “If the heat of a performing government is too much for you, perhaps it’s time to step aside,” he advised.
Chief Emeka Kalu’s statement underscores his vision for a prosperous Abia State, driven by effective governance and accountability. He reiterated his belief in democracy, urging all stakeholders to prioritize the state’s development over personal grievances.

A Response to the Humiliated Abia State PDP
This reply is not to dignify the defeated and disgraced Abia State People’s Democratic Party (PDP) but to clarify the facts and ensure ndi Abia are not misled by the antics of a party that failed its people.
Chief Emeka Charles Kalu has been an active and committed PDP member for over two decades, registered in his Bende Ward, and a longstanding protégé of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar. He has consistently demonstrated his dedication to the party at both state and national levels.
His contributions are not in question: authoring *“Atiku Abubakar: The Man for Nigeria,”* launched in Abuja before the 2023 elections with the presence of prominent PDP figures, serving as Director General (DG) of the Atikulated Agenda, and working tirelessly to promote the party’s presidential candidate across Nigeria. Chief Kalu’s stature as a key financier and chieftain of the PDP is undeniable.
Beyond party politics, Chief Kalu is a staunch advocate for good governance. As the DG of Global Initiatives for Good Governance, he has worked to strengthen democracy in Africa and remains committed to campaigns for better governance in Nigeria.
This commitment is why Chief Kalu supports Governor Alex Chioma Otti OFR—because governance, not party affiliation, is what matters most. Abia State is experiencing unprecedented development under Governor Otti’s leadership, and Chief Kalu, like many Abians, recognizes and applauds these strides.
The bitterness of a failed PDP faction in Abia State is understandable. Many of them relied solely on access to government coffers for their livelihood. Seeing Governor Otti excel and block these avenues of exploitation has left them aggrieved. But instead of introspection, they lash out at those who genuinely want the best for Abia.
Let it be clear: Chief Kalu is not your problem. Your problem is the PDP’s inability to deliver even the basics, like waste disposal, salary payments, and functional governance, during its time in power. Instead of fixing your house, you choose to attack a man whose only crime is standing by the principles of democracy and truth.
If the heat of a performing government is too much for you, perhaps it’s time to step aside. Abia deserves progress, not your bitterness.
