Board Of Trustee Members, National Executive Council Members and Top State Elders of the People’s Democratic Party PDP in Abia State have resolved to allow peace reign in the state.

This is contained in a press release made available to AFNEWS and signed by Senator’s T. A. Orji , Enyinnaya Abaribe, Adolphus N. Wabara, Emma Nwaka, and Prince Vincent Ogbulafor , Chief Onyema Ugochukwu including Rt. Hon. Acho Nwakanma after a stakeholders meeting on 20th July 2020 at an undisclosed location in Nigeria.

Investigation by AFNEWS revealed that this Abia State political elders met in a yet to be verified location to deliberate on the recent rancour and acrimonious outburst against each other from groups within the party over comment made by the speaker Abia State.

The speaker had visited Senator Orji Uzor Kalu in his residence after his release from incarceration , while addressing Senator Orji Uzor Kalu. The Speaker of the House of Assembly and son to Senator T. A Orji , Rt. Hon Chinedum Orji was alleged to have pleaded with Kalu to return and take back his Position as Political Leader of the state .

Even though the Speaker had not confirmed he made the controversial comment, but some members of the PDP believed to be protecting the governor’s political interest picked on the comment and demanded the speakers resignation.

Now People’s Democratic Party Stakeholders have resolve to allow peace reign , the reason as contained in the press release is because the rancour and political power tussle occurred as a result of the unavoidable absence of the leader of the party in the state Dr. Okezie Victor Ikpeazu who was aware in an undisclosed location in Nigeria receiving treatment after testing Positive to COVID-19.

” After reviewing the various exchanges , we came to the conclusion that the quarrel were unnecessary and were probably instigated by agents,provocateurs to undermine the unity in the party for thier own purpose. We deprecate the bitter public exchanges that sought to incite division within our party ,our government and our state , we are certain that those unfortunate exchanges do not represent the true situation in our party which is United in solidarity with our Governor Dr. Okezie Victor Ikpeazu”.

” We therefore call on all antagonist on all sides to cease fire immediately. We believe that whatever issues anyone may have can be addressed within the protocols of the party instead of in public debates that Project a bad image of our party and government. We urge all members of our party to wake up to the challenges we face especially from opposition parties that are trying to revive through federal support”.
