The Chairman, Obingwa Local Government Area/Chairman, Abia State Association of Local Government of Nigeria (ALGON), Honorable Michael Ibe Nwoke, has made some clarifications regarding the Department of State Services (DSS), summoning him.

According to a press release signed by the Secretary to Obingwa LGA, Hon. Bestman Eruba, Esq. And made available to ALL FACTS NEWSPAPER, Hon. Nwoke received an invitation through the Local Government officer in-charge of the DSS in Obingwa LGA, requesting for an appearance at their state headquarters in Umuahia by 12pm on Tuesday August 31, 2021.

Hon. Nwoke was said to have honoured the invitation where he found out that the reason behind his summon, has nothing to do with him or his office.

Sequel to several requests from members of the public seeking clarifications on the reasons behind the invitation of the Abia State Association of Local Government of Nigeria, ALGON, Chairman, who is also the Executive Chairman of Obingwa LGA, Hon. Micheal Ibe Nwoke, it has become imperative that we respond accordingly.

On the evening of Monday August 30th, 2021, the Abia State ALGON Chairman,Hon. Micheal Ibe Nwoke received an invitation through the Local Government officer in-charge of the Department of State Service in Obingwa LGA requesting for an appearance at their state headquarters in Umuahia by 12pm on Tuesday August 31, 2021.

The invitation was through a call and as a law abiding citizen the Chairman obliged the unofficial request and appeared before the Department of State Security Service in Umuahia as scheduled.

On getting to Umuahia he was received by the Local Government official that extended the invitation to him, who thereafter ushered him into the state director’s office for questioning. The chairman was however, shocked that the reason for the invite was not in any way connected to his office or person.

The Executive Chairman of Obingwa Local Government Area, therefore, frowns seriously at individuals or group of people using his name for scrupulous means.

To this end, he will no longer seat and allow people drag him to the mud or send him to the cleaners for issues not in any way connected to his office or his name. While he consults with his legal team for appropriate actions over his visit to the Department of State Service earlier today for onward actions, he has warned that no one under any guise should use his name for activities not in any way connected to him or his office.

This implies that any person or group of persons who does so forthwith will have him to contend with.

He has since returned home to Obingwa LGA and not in the custody of the DSS, as he was not detained.
