The Minority Whip/ member representing Arochukwu State Constituency Abia House of Assembly, Hon. Dr. Mike Ukoha, has facilitated the implementation of Supreme Court ruling on boundary matters between Ndi Ebe and Ndiojiaku Abam communities in Arochukwu LGA.
Leading the team of members of Abia House of Assembly Committee on Boundary Matters, Hon. Ukoha, explained that it pained him so much to see the two communities in Abam clan fighting over boundary issues.
He stated that as brothers and sisters, Ndi Ebe and Ndiojiaku Abam should not have engaged in age long boundary issues which lingered for so long.
Hon. Ukoha further explained that the move became necessary, following Supreme Court decision which stated that the boundary should be delineated.
He thanked the Special Adviser to the Governor on Boundary Matters, Surveyor (High Chief) Christopher Nwanevu, for doing the needful by leading his team to the affected area in order to properly delineate it for peace to reign.
In his speech, a member of the House Committee on Boundary Matters and the Minority Leader, Hon. Chijioke Chukwu, thanked youths of both communities for allowing peace to reign, hence the boundary settlement.
He advised them not to do things that will halt the peace that is gradually returning in the area, stressing that any community without peace breeds threats and disorder.
Earlier, the Surveyor Christopher Nwanevu, had informed the Lawmakers and the two communities of his team willingness to delineate the affected areas in order to restore peace among them.
