Abia Labour Party Chairman, Condemns Killing Of Two Policemen In Aba, Tasks Security Agencies
The Abia state Labour Party, has frowned at and condemned the brutal mur-der of two policemen attached to the Commissioner for trade, commerce and industry in the state, Mr Chimezie Isaac Ukaegbu in Aba on Tuesday.
The Labour Party state chairman, Mr Ceekay Igara, in a statement he signed on Wednesday, noted that the murder of the policemen who were in line of duty was uncalled for and unfortunate.
He commiserated with the Abia state governor, Dr Alex Otti, the state police commissioner, CP Kenechukwu Onwuemelie and the families of the deceaseds on the loss and charged all relevant security agencies to go after the gunmen and bring them to book.
Igara also charged Abians especially in Aba, to remain peaceful and law abiding ,assuring that the state government would address all insecurity issues.
The statement read;
THE BRUTAL MURDER OF TWO POLICEMEN IN ABA, IS UNCALLED FOR:
On behalf of Labour Party, I wish to commiserate with the executive governor of Abia State, Dr Alex Otti OFR, the Commissioner of police Abia state, CP Kenechukwu Onwuemelie, and the entire state police command on the brutal murder of two officers of the Nigeria Police Force in Aba.
I also commiserate with the commissioner for trade, commerce and industry in the state, Dr Chimezie Isaac Ukaegbu on the unfortunate incident that claimed the lives of these young men in their line of duty.
Of a truth, nobody deserves such cruelty and I therefore condemn the act in it’s entirety.
I call on the various security agencies to go after the perpetrators of this criminal act and make them face the law.
While I also urge all citizens and residents of Abia state especially Aba, to remain peaceful, and law abiding.
