The Abia state Police Command has commenced moves aimed at fishing out those alleged to be behind the serial killings and mysterious disappearance of guests at a popular hotel in Ogbohill area of ABA , the commercial nerve center of the state., even as it has appealed to the members of the public to avail the police of any useful information that can lead to the unmasking of the suspected Masterminds. The police move is coming on the heels of the gruesome killing of a young lady and subsequent disappearance of her two-year-old daughter at the the hotel (names withheld) on April 15 2022.
For one, some residents who volunteered to speak but under anonymity said the killing of the young lady brings to seven the number of such mysterious disappearance and deaths of guests, with no arrests made this year alone.
One of the residents of the area who spoke said the hotel which is located on. Ubani Street, in the very heart of the Ogbohill area of the commercial hub of Abia state, has become notorious for constant deaths and disappearance of guests in the last one year.” The most annoying thing is that as I speak no single arrest and prosecution has been made either on the part of the hotel management and or those behind the dastardly acts. We have discovered that the hotel management has been covering up the development for whatever reason. Each time these things happen, we report to the police. But on each occasion the matter Will be covered. It got to a point that the concerned residents who used to report to the police stopped for fears of being targeted by the suspects. However, with this recent case now, we can no longer tolerate the situation. The police and other security agencies have to act before the residents will resort to self-help” one of the residents said.
Sources also revealed that a few days ago, the hotel escaped being torched by whiskers by some irrate youths of the area. The youths were said to be irked by the Swift return from police net without volunteering any useful information, of the Director of the hotel. The youths are, believed to be perceiving the development as yet another attempt at sweeping the matter under the carpet like other cases before it.
But the Abia state Police Command spokesman Geoffrey Ogbonna who confirmed the incident, has promised that all efforts are being made to hunt down the suspected perpetrators of the heinous acts., pleading with the members of the public, especially residents of the area, to assist the police with any useful information at their disposal. The command PPRO also said the corpse of the latest victim, the young lady has been deposited at a morgue, while investigations are ongoing.
