ABIA: Gov. Otti Has Done Outstandingly Well – Hon. Onuigbo, As He Appreciates His Supporters For Standing By Him

 

The member who represented Ikwuano -Umuahia Federal constituency of Abia State in the 9th National Assembly, Hon. Sam Onuigbo, has scored the administration of Governor Alex Otti high, stating that he has performed Outstandingly well in less than one year of assuming office.

 

Onuigbo, a representative of the south east on the governing board of the North East Development Commission (NEDC) made this assertion while fielding questions from journalists during a meeting to appreciate his Abia central constituents over the weekend.

He stated that Governor Otti’s antecedents has shown that he is in office to lead the people and not for his own personal aggrandizement.

 

Onuigbo Lauded Otti for embracing and showing support for some projects like the Federal secretariat in Abia state and Umuahia-Umudike 60km dualization road project, which he (Onuigbo) had attracted while in the Green chambers but faced set backs owing to minor challenges.

In his words;

 

“I have a few examples to buttress my assertions; I worked on a road project from Amachara to Ossah; there is going to be a fly over, am sure federal government will still come to do that and then there will be a dualization from there to Umudike; they call it Umuahia-Umudike 60KM dualization project. Everything about the design had been completed by the federal government but the contract had not been awarded before Governor Alex Otti assumed office.

 

I continued to work on a federal secretariat for Abia as it doesn’t have one. When I brought these projects up with the governor few months after he assumed office, he embraced them and even told me that he had even commissioned a six lane dualization road project from Ossah to Okpara square . To see him already start to execute that, means that he has come to govern, lead the people and not about personal aggrandizement.

 

The federal secretariat I pursued, and it was awarded; it was just an issue to pay a small amount of compensation , and I wrote more than four letters to the past administration in Abia state, and they did not do anything. But as soon as I discussed it with governor Alex Otti, he embraced it happily and commended it….”

He has done astoundingly well” he added.

 

Earlier on, Hon. Sam Onuigbo appreciated his constituents for showing him unwavering support for years adding that ” I will forever be in your debt”.

 

“Thank you for making this journey easier with your fervent prayers and support” Onuigbo said.

 

He assured that he will replicate his dedication and commitment to achieve result in the NEDC as he had done in previous positions held.
