Abaribe Reveals Who To Be Blamed For Bl00dshed In South East | DETAILS
The Senator representing Abia South Senatorial Distinct, Senator Eyinnaya Abaribe, has blamed governors of the southeast states in Nigeria for the incessant bl0odshed in the zone.
Senator Abaribe said this on Sunday on 90MinutesAfrica, an online current affairs programme hosted by Rudolf Okonkwo and Chido Onumah.
He noted that southeast governors are yet to go beyond their political differences and that have hampered any effective resolution of the security situation in the zone. He cited the failure of the state governors to jointly fund the Ebube Agu zonal security outfit.
Abaribe also accused those he termed as “external elements” of worsening insecurity in the southeast.
He argued that the unrests that have marked the region has been perpetrated by “some rogue elements who have infiltrated and taken over” the agitation in the southeast as nobody who claims to be from the zone would perpetrate acts of criminality in the name of fighting for the actualization of Biafra.
“Mazi Nnamdi Kanu told us that he is not in support of the sit-at-home but every Monday people still sit-at-home because some elements keep issuing counter-orders from abroad,” Abaribe added.
He called for the unification of political leaders so as to resolve the lingering crisis in the zone.
“This is not time for blame game. We need to come together to resolve this crisis,” he said.
