A three-man panel sitting in Umuahia on Monday August 26th dismissed the suit filed by Chief Mascot Uzor Kalu of the All Progressives Congress APC and declared Hon Ossy Prestige as the winner of the election for Aba North/South Federal seat.

In a unanimous judgment by Justice Cornelius Akintayo, he dismissed the case for lack of merit and awarded the sum of 100,000 each to all the respondents against the petitioner.

Justice Akintayo noted that the petitioner would not have gone to court at the first place when he knew that he never won the election, adding that Hon. Ossy Prestige won the election.

Speaking in an interview, counsel to APGA/respondent, Barrister Nwabueze Nwankwo explained that he feel so happy that his client won at the tribunal, pointing out that the verdict was a well-deserved one

He further said that the election as conducted by INEC was free, fair and credible, explaining that the petitioner should not have gone to court when it was evidence that he came third in the said election.

Reacting, the Senior Special Assistant Media to the lawmaker, Mr. Henry Nna expressed delight in the said judgment and call on the losers to join hand with his principal to make Aba a better place.

He explained that this is one judgment that the Tribunal did a thorough job in and appreciated the three man panel for standing upright in their resolve to give a well-deserved verdict.

Mr. Nna expressed confidence that if the petitioner wishes to take the case to the appellate court, that his boss will be ever ready to face them him there, adding that their victory is always assured.
