A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Abia State and President of One Destiny Association, Designer Ohiri O. Lewis, has congratulated Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, on his decision to join the All Progressives Congress, describing the move as bold, strategic, and rooted in the broader interest of progress and national development.

In a statement made available to All Facts Newspaper, Ohiri Lewis welcomed Governor Fubara into the progressive family, noting that his decision to align with the APC and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu reflects statesmanship, courage, and a clear understanding of the political direction required to accelerate development in Nigeria.

According to Ohiri, Governor Fubara’s defection goes beyond party politics, describing it as a deliberate step toward strengthening governance, fostering national unity, and consolidating development efforts at both the state and federal levels.

“Governor Sim Fubara’s decision to move to the APC is a courageous and forward-looking choice. By aligning with President Bola Tinubu, he has demonstrated his readiness to place the progress of Rivers State and Nigeria above personal or political comfort,” Ohiri stated.

The APC chieftain further described Fubara as a leader whose political journey should serve as a course of study for other politicians, stressing that despite intense political pressure, trials, and challenges, the Rivers governor remained focused, resilient, and committed to delivering good governance to his people.

Ohiri noted that Governor Fubara’s ability to survive political storms and still maintain stability, service delivery, and people-oriented governance speaks volumes about his leadership capacity and inner strength.

“He has passed through a lot politically, yet he stood firm, refused to be distracted, and continued to serve the people of Rivers State. That is the mark of a true leader—one who puts governance above politics,” he added.

Speaking on behalf of One Destiny Association, a socio-political organization with growing influence across states, Ohiri assured Governor Fubara of the association’s full backing, pledging mobilization, advocacy, and grassroots engagement to support his administration and ensure the success of his second-term ambition.

“One Destiny Association will stand solidly with Governor Sim Fubara. We will mobilize, support, and work tirelessly to ensure that his second term is achieved, because continuity is essential for consolidating the gains of good governance,” Ohiri declared.

He expressed confidence that Governor Fubara’s presence in the APC would further strengthen the party, deepen its reform agenda, and inspire other leaders to embrace progressive ideals anchored on service, development, and national interest.

Ohiri concluded by wishing Governor Fubara wisdom, strength, and divine guidance as he continues to lead Rivers State, expressing optimism that his alignment with the APC would unlock greater opportunities for development and federal collaboration.
