ENVIRONMENT: Why Oyo Government Suspended Monthly Sanitation Exercise, Replaces It With Another | READ IN FULL

The Oyo state government has announced an indefinite suspension of the monthly sanitation exercise observed in the state.

 

The State Commissioner for Environment and Natural Resources, Idowu Oyeleke disclosed this on Wednesday March 10, at the introduction of the daily cleaning exercise by his ministry in Ibadan.

 

The commissioner, urged residents of the state to ensure daily cleaning of their environment, especially drainage channels and other open spaces to prevent an outbreak of diseases and cases of flooding.

He revealed  that the environmental taskforce will commence a daily routine check  around the state, to ensure compliance and adherence to all environmental laws and regulations of the state.

 

In his words;

“The state government has indefinitely suspended the monthly exercise and restriction of vehicular and human movement during the period.

“However, the environmental taskforce will be going around to ensure compliance and adherence to all environmental laws and regulations of the state.”
