There was wide jubilations yesterday at Amaise ward 1 Isiala Ngwa South as Chief Kenneth Nwosu Chikereuba, a chieftain of the People’s Democratic Party joined the All progressive Congress in his ward.
Receiving Chief Chikereuba, the Local government Chairman of All Progressive Congress Mr. Ezinwa who doubles as the Chairman of APC registration committee for Isiala Ngwa South informed the party faithfuls that he is as happy as the word “Happy “for the entrance of Chief Chikereuba whom he described as a political bulldozer . He narrated how his team tried to convince Chief Chikereuba in February 2019 ahead of the general election but he rejected every entreaties made in that regard.
He thanked the Former Abia State Finance Commissioner Mr. Obinna Oriaku who he described as the facilitator to this defection. He thanked Chief Chikereuba for coming to APC at a time when all hands are on deck for the liberation of Abia state.
In his remarks, Chief Kenneth Chinkereuba said “I am a man of my words. Obinna Oriaku is my son. I have joined politics before him but since he joined, he attracted the first state road project that came to Owerrinta since 1999. He is from Mbutu ward 3 but today, we enjoy light courtesy of him. Look at our market, he rebuilt it in 1 year after the closure of the market for 25 years due to flooding, go there now, our people can now buy and sell even during the rain. Tell me what is development? As My Son, with whom am well pleased. He did not persuade me or even tell me to join APC, I called him and informed him of my decision to join him in APC. I am in APC to contribute my quota to the development of our dear state.
In his remarks, the ward Chairman of ward 1 Isiala Ngwa South thanked Chief Chikereuba and family, friends and supporters for joining APC . He said that APC in ward 1 can now breathe fresh air .
In his vote of thanks, the Former commissioner for Finance Abia state Mr. Obinna Oriaku thanked the local government Chairman, the registration committee, the ward executives, ward members, friends and supporters for believing in him. He emphasized that today is not for too many talks as all energies must be channeled towards massive mobilization as he emphasized that the four wards in his area must come first in line in the registration for the whole state. Anybody who is able to convince 50 persons to join APC within 3 weeks has a reward from him.
