During a media exclusive chat with AFNEWS, Honorable Ebere Nwachukwu revealed why he obtained a restraining order against Abia State Independent Election Commission (ABSIEC) and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). In the restraining order as published by AFNEWS with document attached, the order stops ABSIEC from going ahead with the planned Abia State LGA election and also restrained PDP from submitting any names as candidates of the party.

While reacting to the Nkwoagu-Isuochi High Court restraining order, Honorable Ebere Nwachukwu revealed that LGA elections cannot hold in Abia State, stating that all concerned parties in the suit has being served with the court judgment including ABSIEC and that the electoral umpire knows the implication of going against a court judgment.

He asserted that the PDP never held primary elections across the states especially in his Local Government, Isiala South which is the reason he approached the court for redress in the first place.

“No primary election was held in Abia State by PDP. I bought the form at a high price, consulted leaders, did campaign, spent money and at last the party refused to hold primary. I am ready to go to the highest court in the lad to seek redress” he stated.

When asked what he tends to achieve with the litigation he has instituted against ABSIEC ,Chief Nwachukwu stated ,he wants his party to go back the field and do the right by conducting a free, fair and credible primary elections, if this not done ,“I will make sure council elections does not hold in Abia ,I will peruse my case to the supreme court to ensure that the right thing is done,he stated”.
