Commencement of Work on the Ohafia – Ozu Abam – Bende – Umuahia Route F107.

Good afternoon Great Constituents.

I am pleased to inform us that rehabilitation work has commenced on the Ohafia – Ozu Abam – Bende – Umuahia Route F107(Work commenced from Ohafia End and at Abam axis heading towards Bende) Road by the designated contractor Messrs Hartland /Setraco that has been awarded the complete reconstruction of the Road as has earlier been communicated while awaiting funding once the 2021 appropriation has is passed to enable the complete makeover of the road corridor.

2.The palliative repairs is to reinstate the critical failed portions of the Road corridor to enable easier access on this dilapidated Road corridor. While efforts are also being made to reprocure the Igwu Ozu Abam bridge and the rehabilitation of the Nmuri bridge respectively.

3.It is pertinent to stress that I had equally attracted similar award for the repair works through FERMA to enable for a simultaneous and early realisation of the rehabilitation before the yuletide celebrations as the contractor is also expected to mobilize soon to site and to approach her job from the Umuahia axis working towards Bende to ensure a seamless and accelerated execution.

4 The work scope doesn’t not in anyway affect the ongoing Lot 1 of the reconstruction project @ the Ohafia – Arochukwu axis.

5.I sincerely want to use the opportunity to thank all the Road users for their patience during these period while soliciting for their maximum cooperation to enable the contractors to deliver on time.

6.My Special thanks to President Muhammadu Buhari, Governor Okezie Ikpeazu for the success of these projects and also to the Senate Chief Whip, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu Senator Representing Abia North and my brothers Hon Bichi House Committee Chairman on Works, and Hon Benjamin Kalu Member Representing Bende Federal Constituency for the synergy and putting Governance above every other interest.

7.To the Minister of Works and Housing Mr Raji B Fashola , My Inlaw the permanent secretary and your management team thank you for keeping to your promise.

To God be all the Glory
