There is an ongoing plan by Northerners living in southeast to stage a protest across the south Eastern State . This protest according to an unverified source is aim at drawing the attention of the President Muhammadu Buhari led administration to the incessant killing of people across Northern state.

This Northerners under the umbrella of Coalition of Northern Group (CNG) and Citizens Participation Against Corruption Initiative are already mapping out strategy towards this protest which is said to be taken place on or before July 2020

You will remember that there is an ongoing protest across the North by Youth and market Women under the aigies of Coalition of Northern Group (CNG) and Citizens Participation Against Corruption Initiative. This protest which started last week Tuesday kicked off at Katstina , the home state of President Muhammadu Buhari and is gradually spreading to other part of the North. Investigation by AFNEWS revealed that the protests which was flagged off at Kofar Soro was concluded at the old Government House, Katsina.

The convener of one among the numerous protest rocking the North Jamilu Charanci, said the protest was” meant to express dissatisfaction over the government’s failure to deliver on its primary responsibility of protecting the lives and properties of its citizens. He said the government has also failed to defend and protect the territorial integrity of Nigeria as more gunmen are invading from other neighbouring countries and launching attacks in Nigeria.”

According to Mr Charanci ” the protest was part of their constitutional rights to demands actions from their representatives to bring an end to the security situation across the North.” the national coordinator of the group, Nastura Shareef had also said the protest will hold across northern states on Saturday to demand for improved security and an end to the killings, kidnapping and wanton destruction of properties across the North.”

The protesters, comprising grown-up men and children, blamed President Muhammadu Buhari as well as Governor Aminu Wasari for the spate of insecurity in the state. Though the police command in Katsina had said the protest is illegal as the protesters did not get the permission of the command before embarking on the protest.the protesters are currently mapping out strategy to import the protest into south East .

What AFNews cannot say at the moment is the legality or otherwise of the planned protest which certainly will affect business and peace currently being experienced in the south east . We also cannot disclose the date for the said protest since it was not yet communicated to Newsmen but the reason is simply to draw the attention of the presidency to the incessant killings of people across the Northern state expect and Nigeria in general.
