Appoint Tinubu, Chief Of Staff, Group Tells Buhari
Nigeria Reformation Unity Forum (NRUF), a political group, has urged President Muhammadu Buhari to appoint Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, national leader of All Progressives (APC) as Chief of Staff.
The Forum, led by its National Coordinator, Honorable Mutiu Okunola, one time Lagos State Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), had in a press statement made available to journalists on Tuesday, stated that it was of the belief that the apppointment of Tinibu would be beneficial to the nation considering his wealth of experience.
While calling on the President, NRUF, a movement known for the unity and prosperity of Nigeria, urged the President to eschew political parochialism by searching for the best hand, like former Governor of Lagos State to fill the vacuum created by the demise of Abba Kyari.
The group maintained that if the President should take the decision now, he would be able to leave a lasting legacy by the end of his tenure in 2023.
NRUF also advised the President to ignore political jobbers who would have nothing concrete to add to his government, by appointing the man known for his political sagacity and ability to carry others along.
It maintained its believe that Buhari would do the nation proud by making the appointment irrespective of ethic bias, ignoring call by some persons, that the appointment be narrowed down to Borno State, or the geo-political region of the late chief of staff.
“Tinubu is the best man for the job. He is very popular and well respected across the country. His contribution to the development of Lagos State during and after his tenure as governor of the state is one reason he deserves to be given a chance.
“He is a man of the people, a talented administrator and a technocrat, with vast experience in the oil industry, to many other sectors of the economy. He is a patriotic Nigerian by all standards,” the statement reads.
