A former lawmaker representing Kogi West at the Senate, Senator Dino Melaye, on Wednesday, revealed that he was attacked alongside some members of the Peoples Democratic Party at the venue of the Kogi State governorship tribunal in Abuja.

The lawmaker on his Twitter page said the attackers were thugs sent by the All Progressives Congress, APC, Chairman in the State.

The attack allegedly occurred at the premises of Magistrate Court Wuse zone 2 Abuja.

He wrote, “I thank God 4 surviving massive attack targeted at me, at the venue of the Kogi State election tribunal sitting in Abuja.

“Thugs were led by Kogi state chairman of APC. My heart goes to all our agents & lawyers injured & receiving treatment at various hospitals. To God be the Glory.”

Recall that Smart Adeyemi of the All Progressives Congress, APC, defeated Dino Melaye of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), in the Senatorial rerun election which held in November 2019.
