Unconfirmed report has it that a banker in Eket in Akwa Ibom State has tested positive of Coronavirus or COVID-19.

The report says he is the manager of a bank in Eket, he was first rushed to a private clinic where they noticed symptoms of coronavirus.

Sources say his test confirmed positive and he has being sent to Ikot Ekpene Isolation center.

We gathered that NCDC will soon announce  it.

Meanwhile, the Akwa Ibom state commissioner for information revealed earlier in the day that the state has not banned social gatherings.

However, a task force has been mandated to monitor any gathering of more than 10 persons to ensure compliance with preventive measures prescribed for such gatherings which must include provision of hand washing facilities with soap and running water as well as hand sanitizers at the entrance, and ensuring at least 6 feet space between people

It is important to continue to observe SOCIAL DISTANCING, avoid shaking hand, and embracing, and keep at least six feet distance from anyone who is sneezing or coughing.
